As part of the flourishing music scene Down Under, Steele has occasionally been throwing the little known party ‘High Spirits’ for the last five years with his mates in the Sydney underground. ‘There have been plenty of highs and a few lows too and I’ve learnt a lot’ he says.

Hosting the party helped him developed his very own and unique style when it comes to playing records. A style that can be translated to his highly acclaimed series of DJ mixes called ‘Odd Waves’. The ‘NIMH’ Radio Host and fellow Sydney native, Michael Kucyk, puts it likes this: ‘Odd waves focuses on the overlooked and forgotten oddball 80’s popstars and new wavers. An exotic range of foreign tongues married by new technologies, ambition, strange production techniques, fashion and theatrics’.
