Who know’s how long this will last? We dont either. All we know is that we are now 14 nights in and we are ready for a semi-jubilee party. Long gone is the summer, so we are pleased to bring you some odd rays of sunshine from Sydney, Australia.

Steele Bonus is not a surfer, but he likes to swim though. His physical presence comes in handy when he wears the zebra striped shirt #10 and represents local Sydney soccer team, Leichhardt Saints SFC, in the lower tiers of the game in Aussieland. The same game that we appreciate so much. ‘He must be one of us’, we like to think.

The player of the game with #10 on his back is often referred to as the ‘playmaker’. The playmaker controls the flow of his team’s offensive play and sets up teammates with his technique, vision and creativity. Not far from the skills that Steele possesses in civil life, when working as an independent graphic designer. For further details on his works, go to http://steelebonus.com/

As part of the flourishing music scene Down Under, Steele has occasionally been throwing the little known party ‘High Spirits’ for the last five years with his mates in the Sydney underground. ‘There have been plenty of highs and a few lows too and I’ve learnt a lot’ he says.

Hosting the party helped him developed his very own and unique style when it comes to playing records. A style that can be translated to his highly acclaimed series of DJ mixes called ‘Odd Waves’. The ‘NIMH’ Radio Host and fellow Sydney native, Michael Kucyk, puts it likes this: ‘Odd waves focuses on the overlooked and forgotten oddball 80’s popstars and new wavers. An exotic range of foreign tongues married by new technologies, ambition, strange production techniques, fashion and theatrics’.

If this sounds intriguing to you, join the celebration on saturday the 10th of October at Operaen.
