Metropolis Extra Screening w/ Live Film Scoring at Loppen

Begivenhedsdetaljer

NB! Due to a high demand for the first screening of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis on the 17th of December (Metropolis Screening w/ Live Film Scoring at Loppen), the movie will be screened on the day after as well – December 18.

Come one, come all! The viewing of a sensational, stylistic, and suspenseful masterclass is soon upon us via the Moroder edit of Fritz Lang’s magnificent “Metropolis” (1927) at Loppen.

Improvised live scoring from The Plant x Izumi-San Ensemble will accompany the journey through the glistening yet grim surface of the beaming city and its utterly atrocious underworld which allows it to shine through the oppression of its working class. Metropolis is a bold and ambitious cinematic endeavor not only for 1927, but is also itself a beautiful and superbly told story almost 100 years later which circulates around classism and the human spirit. We could not be more excited to bring this unique cinematic and musical crossover experience to you at Loppen on December 18!

“The Plant x Izumi-San”, an experimental ambient/jazzcore duo whose sounds often center around deep and dark ambient sounds mixed with experimental drumming, broken beats and free jazz, will play alongside the classic film.
